DURHAM, N.H. – Junior quarterback and captain Max Brosmer (Roswell, Ga.) passed for three touchdowns to lead the University of New Hampshire football team offense in a spirited Blue-White game that closed out spring practice in Wildcat Stadium on Friday night.
The game was divided into several parts, some with limited contact and others with full contact other than on the quarterbacks. The defense shined in the early parts of the scrimmage in particular.
The game ended with a full contact red zone session that featured a pair of Brosmer TD passes to Logan Tomlinson (Manchester, Conn.), a grad student transfer from Wesleyan University. The first was for 13 yards and the second was for four yards on the final play of the game.
Tomlinson, 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds, graduated in December from Wesleyan and enrolled at UNH in January. He had two highly productive years with the Division III NESCAC school with 59 catches for 847 yards and five touchdowns as a freshman and 72 catches for 979 yards and 10 TDs last fall. The Cardinals were 6-3 each season.
Brosmer threw a 45-yard pass over the top of the defense to sophomore Joey Corcoran (Montreal, Que.) for the other touchdown. Corcoran, the team's leading receiver last fall, finished with six catches for 137 yards.
Sophomore DJ Linkins (District Heights, Md.) had six catches for 64 yards.
Brosmer completed 17 of his 29 passes for 206 yards and the three scores. Redshirt freshman BarryKleinpeter (Savannah, Ga.) completed 10 of his 19 passes for 83 yards.
Junior defensive end Josiah Silver (Hampton, Va.) had three tackles for a loss, including two sacks. Junior defensive tackle Neil Politano (Jacksonville, Fla.) had a fumble recovery.
Sophomore linebacker Max Tillett (Catawissa, Pa.), sophomore defensive end Zach Garron (Bedford, N.H.), sophomore defensive tackle Tim Bonagura (Fremont, N.H.) and redshirt freshman defensive end T.J. Farrell (Walpole, Mass.) each had a sack.
Senior safety Derek Thompson (Bear, Del.), Tillett, junior Ryan Toscano (Bedford, N.H.) and junior Caleb Mead (Willow Grove, Pa.) led the defense with four tackles.

Senior Charles Briscoe III (Bowie, Md.) blocked a field goal attempt in the red zone session and junior safety Duncan Moreland (Beverly, Mass.) returned it 70 yards for a touchdown.
Before the game Briscoe was named winner of the Todd Walker Teammate Award.

The Wildcats open the season with a game at Stonehill on Saturday, Sept. 2 at 1 p.m. and play their FBS game at Central Michigan on Saturday, Sept. 9.

The Captains
Before the game, Santos introduced the five captains for the 2023 season.
Joining Brosmer are senior running back Dylan Laube (Westhampton, N,Y.), senior center Osho Omoyeni(Lowell, Mass.) , senior safety Max Oxendine (Chester, Va.) and senior linebacker Bryce Shaw (Raynham, Mass.)
Todd Walker Teammate Award
Briscoe played primarily at wide receiver and on special teams his first three years. Late last season when injuries depleted UNH's defensive backs unit, he helped out there.
This year he is playing defensive back.
Last season, Briscoe returned a blocked punt 35 yards for a touchdown against Monmouth.
Todd Walker was a Wildcat receiver who lost his life March 18, 2011 in Boulder, Colo. He was shot as he stopped an attempted robbery while he was walking a woman home.
