Ramshaw Nominated for Allstate AFCA Good Works Team

NORTHBROOK, Ill. – Redshirt junior captain Colby Ramshaw (Londonderry, N.H.) of the University of New Hampshire football team is a nominee for the 2026 Good Works Team. The announcement was made Monday by Allstate and the American Football Coaches Association.
The Good Works Team recognizes college football players and coaches across all divisions who lead through community service, academics and athletics. There is a total of 175 nominees with a breakdown of 113 FBS players and 49 student-athletes from the FCS, Divisions II, III and NAIA, as well as 13 head coaches.
Ramshaw has consistently set the standard for serving others and has made a tremendous impact throughout his collegiate career. He is a true leader within the UNH athletic department.
For the past two years, Ramshaw has served as UNH's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee's President. In this role, he has been a tremendous advocate for UNH student-athletes and has helped lead annual initiatives focused on fundraising, civic engagement, mental health awareness, and building stronger camaraderie among the 20 athletic teams at UNH.
These annual events include:
Bench Out the Stigma – An annual event hosted by SAAC that brings UNH student-athletes together to support mental health awareness. This fundraising initiative benefits Connor's Climb, an organization dedicated to suicide prevention and mental health awareness. Ramshaw has played a major role in organizing and coordinating the event.
Mental Health Trivia – One of SAAC's most popular events, this creative and engaging trivia night focuses on mental health, campus resources, and student well-being. Ramshaw worked closely with fellow SAAC leaders to organize and host the event for UNH student-athletes.
Food Frenzy – An America East conference initiative in which SAAC groups across the conference collect canned food donations to support families in need during the Thanksgiving season. Ramshaw helped lead UNH's efforts by organizing competitions, encouraging participation among teams, and actively contributing himself.
Strong Girls United – UNH Athletics partners with Strong Girls United, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering girls and women to be strong, confident, and resilient through sports, mentorship, and mental health programming. Ramshaw consistently takes initiative by attending, supporting the program, and encouraging other male student-athletes to participate as allies.
Hoops for Hunger – A 3-on-3 basketball tournament that brings together UNH students and student-athletes to raise money and collect canned and boxed food items for the local Cornucopia Food Pantry.
Day in the Life of a Collegiate Athlete – Ramshaw has been the driving force behind this event the past two years. The program invites more than 200 middle school students to campus to experience the daily life of a student-athlete and understand the importance of education. As a New Hampshire native, Colby personally connected with local schools, coordinated with teachers, and helped organize the entire event alongside coaches and fellow student-athletes.
The Allstate AFCA Good Works Team reflects Allstate's longstanding commitment to supporting student-athletes who strengthen communities through service. Established in 1992, governed by the AFCA since 1997, and presented by Allstate since 2008, the program honors players and coaches who use their platforms to strengthen communities and support causes important to them.
The 2026 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team of 22 student-athletes – 11 from both groups – and an honorary head coach will be announced in September.
UNH football kicks off the 2026 season Aug. 28 (7pm) at UAlbany and the home opener is Sept. 12 (6:03pm) vs. Stonehill.
