Brosmer Throws Career-High Five TD Passes in 51-17 Win at Stonehill

Brosmer completed 19 of 25 passes for 285 yards and completed his TD passes to five different receivers. Laube scored three different ways: a 58-yard punt return, 23-yard reception and 11-yard run – all in the first quarter. He finished the game with 229 all-purpose yards with a breakdown of 89 rushing, 31 receiving, 51 kickoff return and 58 punt return.
Ryan Toscano (Bedford, N.H.) and Nathan Kapongo (Westbrook, Maine) tied for the team lead with five tackles, and both players had one tackle for loss. Six Wildcats were credited with four tackles. Joe Eichman (Merrimack, N.H.) recorded the only takeaway by either team's defense with a first-quarter interception that led to a UNH touchdown.
UNH's special teams recovered a muffed punt and blocked two kicks. Zach Garron (Bedford, N.H.) blocked a punt that resulted in Laube's TD punt return and Randall Harris (Walled Lake, Mich.) blocked a 43-yard field goal attempt, also in the first quarter.

FIRST QUARTER
- UNH raced out to a 27-0 lead in the opening 15 minutes.
- The Wildcats were held to a 3-and-out on the first possession of the game, but Caleb Mead (Willow Grove, Pa.) recovered a muffed punt at the SC 22 to immediately give possession back to the 'Cats.
- Four plays later, Brosmer connected with Colby Ramshaw (Londonderry, N.H.) in the right flat for a 2-yard touchdown. UNH did not convert the 2-point conversion and UNH led 6-0 at 12:06 of the first quarter.
- New Hampshire's defense held the Skyhawks to a 3-and-out, then Laube bounced off a defender and raced down the right sideline to extend the lead to 13-0 at 11:14.
- The Wildcats' defense stopped Stonehill on 4th-and-1 from the SC 39, and five playe later Brosmer completed a short pass to a wide-open Laube on the right side and he scampered into the endzone to push the advantage to 20-0 at 7:06.
- Stonehill's next possession ended after two plays when Joe Eichman () intercepted a pass at midfield and set up 1st-and-10 for the 'Cats at the SC 46.
- Laube scored on an end-around to the left side from 11 yards to give UNH a 27-0 lead at 3:40.
- Harris kept the home team scoreless late in the first quarter when he blocked Jack Kalman's 43-yard field goal attempt.
SECOND QUARTER
- On the opening play of the quarter, Brosmer hit Heron Maurisseau (Bellport, N.Y.) in stride at the SC 25 yardline and he raced into the end zone for a 69-yard score that gave UNH a 34-0 lead at 14:50.
- Stonehill trimmed the deficit to 34-7 on Jermaine Corbett's 2-yard touchdown run at 5:21. That play capped a 10-play, 80-yard drive.
- Nick Mazzie (Boxford, Mass.) made a career-long 47-yard field goal to advance the score to 37-7 at 1:18.
- Perry Shelbred hit a 23-yard field goal as time expired in the first half to lift the Skyhawks within 37-10.
THIRD QUARTER
- Brosmer fired a 4-yard TD pass to Drew Danson (Wrentham, Mass.) in the back of the end zone to cap a 10-play, 85-yard drive that consumed 6:23 off the clock.
- Logan Tomlinson (Manchester, Conn.) lept to grab a high pass at the SC 15 and continued into the end zone for a 22-yard TD that extended UNH's lead to 51-10 with 25 seconds on the clock.
FOURTH QUARTER
- Stonehill scored the only points of the fourth quarter on Corbett's 23-yard TD run.
GAME NOTEBOOK
- UNH rushed the ball 35 times for 153 yards (4.4 yards/carry) as part of 437 total yards of offense.
- SC amassed 105 of its 303 total yards of offense in the fourth quarter.
- New Hampshire was a +2 in turnover margin with two takeaways.
- The Wildcats recorded nine tackles for loss but not a sack; the Skyhawks made five tackles behind the line of scrimmage, including two sacks.
- The 'Cats had the edge in time of possession at 32:08.
UNH NOTEBOOK
- Brosmer surpassed his previous best of four TD passes.
- Brosmer entered the season No. 9 on the program's career leaderboard with 5,252 passing yards. He surpassed Jim Stayer (5,349 yards;1992-94) and Matt Griffin (5,425 from 1987-91) to rise to No. 7 with 5,536.
- Laube, last year's national leader in all-purpose yards per game. has seven career games with 200+ all-purpose yards.
- Mazzie was a perfect 6-for-6 on PAT kicks and also made his only field goal attempt; his previous career long was 43 yards.
- Kyle Lepkowski (Adamstown, Md.) had a team-high three catches for 39 yards.
- Maurisseau led the Wildcats with 78 receiving yards, including a 69-yard touchdown.
- Sean Lehane (Milford, Mass.) averaged 44.6 yards on five punts.
- Barry Kleinpeter () was the QB on all four UNH possessions in the fourth quarter; that included a kneel down with two seconds to play. He was 0-for-3 passing with two rushes for six yards.
