Martell Sisters Each Notch First-Place Finishes at Colonial Relays

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Sisters Elizabeth Martell and Annemarie Martell (Essex Junction, Vt.) took home first-place finishes in their respective events as the University of New Hampshire women's track and field competed in the Colonial Relays on the campus of William & Mary this weekend.

Graduate student Sarah Williams (Dover, N.H.) made her outdoor season debut Friday afternoon and finished fourth in the hammer throw with a toss of 171' 10" (52.38m).

In the triple jump, sophomore Olivia Chamberlain (Waterville, N.Y.) tallied an eighth-place finish with a distance of 37' 4.5" (11.39m).

Graduate student Annemarie Martell won the 5000m run with a time of 17:50.76, setting a new personal best in the 5k.

The 'Cats had a pair of runners finish in the top 10 of the 1500m run with junior Elizabeth Martell placing first with a time of 4:25.07 to set a new personal best. Junior Emma York (Penacook N.H.) finished ninth, clocking in at 4:40.04 for a new personal best as well.

Sophomore Claire Ronan (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) notched a fourth-place finish in the 800m run with a personal best time of 2:17.14.

In the 1600m sprint medley relay, the team of Chamberlain, Ronan, junior Natalie Fraser (Gilford, N.H.), and sophomore Autumn Agri (Stratham, N.H.) came in first place for the Wildcats with a time of 4:11.18.

The Wildcats return to action on Saturday, April 8 for a quad meet at the Frank H. Livak Track at Vermont beginning at 12 p.m.
