UNH Sees Trio of Top-5 Finishes at New England Championships

BOSTON, MASS.- The University of New Hampshire women's track and field team traveled to Boston on Thursday for the NEICAAA Championships at the TRACK at New Balance with the conclusion of the event coming Friday afternoon.
Out of 24 teams competing in the New England Championships, UNH finished with 22.5 points for a 12th-place finish.
FIELD EVENTS
Freshman Makena Lee (Northwood, N.H.) tied for 11th place in the pole vault with a height of 10' 11.75" (3.35m) out of 24 competitors.
In the long jump, sophomore Olivia Chamberlain (Warnerville, N.Y.) reached a distance of 17' 8.75" (5.40m) to come in eighth place.
Chamberlain notched an eighth-place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 36' 7.5" (11.16m) while sophomore Autumn Agri (Stratham, N.H.) finished 13th with a distance of 35' 10.5" (10.93m).
Graduate student Sarah Williams (Dover, N.H.) recorded the highest individual finish of the championships for the Wildcats with a throw of 42' (12.80m) in the shot put to come in fourth place. Williams recorded another fourth-place finish in the weight throw with a toss of 54' 3" (16.55m).
RUNNING EVENTS
The team of freshman Ava Graham, junior Hannah Langstaff (Windham, Maine), junior Emma York (Penacook, N.H.), and sophomore Claire Ronan (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) finished second with a time of 9:16.15 in the 4x800m relay.
In the distance medley, freshman Silvia Caddel (Salem, N.H.), junior Natalie Fraser (Gilford, N.H.), sophomore Cailey Archer (Berthoud, Colo.), and sophomore Lily Doody (Lee, N.H.) took home a sixth-place finish with a time of 12:33.80.

The Wildcats host UMass Lowell in a dual meet on Thursday, Feb. 9 at Paul Sweet Oval in a one-day competition.
