Wildcats Win Tri-Meet in Final Home Meet of Indoor and Outdoor Seasons

DURHAM, N.H.-Â The University of New Hampshire women's track and field team won their last home meet of the indoor and outdoor seasons in a tri-meet with UMass Lowell and Vermont Thursday afternoon at Paul Sweet Oval.
The Wildcats finished the day with 91 points as a team, UMass Lowell scored 42 points, and Vermont scored 33 points.

Freshman Opal Shinnlinger (Canaan, N.H.) finished second the in the weight throw with a toss of 42' 6" (12.97m) while freshman Lindsay Isaacs (Rutland, Mass.) had a throw of 41' 4" (12.61m) to come in third.
Â
Once again, Shinnlinger and Isaacs finished in the same spots of second and third in the shot put. Shinnlinger reached a mark of 40' 2.25" (12.25m) and Isaacs recorded a throw of 39' 6.5" (12.05m).

Freshman Kristen Kirk finished second in the high jump, reaching a height of 4' 10.24" (1.48m).

Freshman Makenna Lee (Northwood, N.H.) and junior Danielle Heine (Waverly, Pa.) each reached a mark of 10' 10.25" (3.31m) in the pole vault to come in first and second in the event.

Freshman Makena Lee (Northwood, N.H.) led the 'Cats in the pole vault reaching a mark of 10' 6" to come in third place.

In the long jump, sophomore Olivia Chamberlain (Waterville, N.Y.) topped the Wildcats with a distance of 16' 8.75" (5.17m) for a third-place finish.

Sophomore Autumn Agri (Stratham, N.H.) competed in the triple jump, finishing with a distance of 37' 2.5", tallying a first-place finish.

In the 55m hurdles, sophomore Teagan O'Brien (Pawtucket, Conn.) finished in second place with a time of 9.60 seconds while Kirk finished close behind with a time of 9.67 seconds.

Junior Natalie Fraser (Gilford, N.H.) notched a first-place finish in the 400m race with a time of 1:00.89 and freshmen Liliana Chirichella (Troy, N.H.) placed second with a time of 1:01.19.

In the 500m run, senior Cailey Archer (Berthoud, Colo.) finished in first place, clocking in at 1:20.91. Junior Hannah Langstaff (Windham, Maine) came in second place with a time of 1:22.41.

Senior Meline Almasian (Westford, Mass.) came in first place for the 'Cats in the 55m dash, completing the race in 7.52 seconds.

In the 800m run, freshman Ava Graham crossed the finish line with a time of 2:19.07 to come in first place while sophomore Claire Ronan (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y came in second place with a time of 2:21.41.

Juniors Emma York (Penacook, N.H.) and Silvia Caddell (Salem, N.H.) tallied first and second-place finishes in the 1000m run, finishing with times of 3:02.80 and 3:07.89.

Another Wildcat notched a first-place finish when freshman Liliana Chirichella (Troy, N.H.) finished with a time of 27.67 seconds in the 200m dash while sophomore Gwenyth Dahlinger (Pelham, N.H.) also competed with a time of 28.36 seconds to finish third.

Graduate student Solstice Soliba (Ajax, Ontario) ran in the 3000m race and came in first place with a time of 10:43.96, over 15 seconds faster than the next closest competitor.

The team of Fraser, Graham, Ronan, and Archer won the 4x400m relay with a time of 4.11.14.
