Kane Matches Career High Points in 59-45 Loss to Binghamton

DURHAM, N.H. – Senior center Brooke Kane (Derry, N.H.) tied her career-high 17 points as the University of New Hampshire women's basketball team fell to Binghamton, 59-45 on Wednesday night at Lundholm Gymnasium.
Freshman guard Avery O'Connor (Dedham, Mass) had 15 points for the 'Cats.
The Wildcats fall 5-10 (0-3 America East), while the Bearcats improve to 9-7 (2-1 America East).

FIRST QUARTER:
- Junior center Paige Cote (Sanford, Maine) won the tipoff to gain first possession of the ball.
- Junior guard Adara Groman (Hopkinton, Mass.) drilled the game's first three-pointer to give the 'Cats a five-point lead.
- Freshman guard Avery O'Connor (Dedham, Mass.) and senior center Brooke Kane sank back-to back-threes to end the quarter strong.
SECOND QUARTER:
- Binghamton started the second quarter with a 14-13 lead.
- Following a Kane free throw the Bearcats scored eight unanswered points to put them up by eight halfway through the second quarter.
- O'Connor heated up following the media timeout as she scored seven points in less than two minutes to bring the 'Cats within five going into halftime.
THIRD QUARTER:
- Kane drove through the lane and made a layup for the first points of the second half.
- Cote dished the ball to O'Connor who drained her third three-pointer of the game.
FOURTH QUARTER:
- Freshman guard Breezie Williams (Canton, Ohio) swished a floater and Kane banged home her second three-pointer of the game early in the quarter.
- Williams stepped back and knocked down her eighth three-pointer of the season.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- O'Connor finished the first half with 10 points.
- Kane matched her career-high 17 points for the third time this season.
