"One of our needs with this recruiting class was a step out/stretch four man," said Herrion. "Jaxson proved at Central Arkansas that he can stretch the floor and make three's. He will also bring four years of Div. I experience to our team. We are really excited to have Jaxson join the Wildcat program".
Woodyard (6'6", 190 lbs) played in 27 games as true freshman, totaling 196 minutes for the Beacons last season. He played double digit minutes in nine games and averaged 1.2 ppg, 1.2 rpg, shooting 48.1% from the floor and 33% from the three-point arc. He registered 15.7 ppg as junior at London (OH) High School, to go along with 4.7 assists, 7.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game. He was a two-time all-state selection and was selected Central Buckeye Conference Player of the Year. Woodyard spent his senior season at International Sports Academy (OH), known as ISA.
"Trey is coming from a very successful program at Valparaiso," commented Herrion. "We think Trey can be a real versatile player for us offensively. He's got great length at 6'6" and can play multiple positions on the perimeter. He's a very skilled perimeter player that can also shoot the ball. Look forward to having Trey join the Wildcats".
Brown (6'0", 170 lbs) played major role on a Seattle University team that finished this past season with a 23-9 overall record and a 14-4 mark in the WAC. He appeared in 29 games, totaling 574 minutes including one start and averaged 4.4 ppg, 2.4 apg, 1.8 rpg for the Redhawks. Brown shot 79.6% from the free throw line and recorded 71 assists on just 36 turnovers. Prior to Seattle, he played two seasons at City College of San Francisco, which included 8.7 points, 5.6 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game for CCSF in 2019-20, as the Rams went 30-0 before the season was halted due to COVID-19. He is a graduate of Berkeley (CA) High School, he earned First Team All-WAC honors during his junior and senior years. His squad made the playoffs all four years, advancing to the NorCal Championship in 2014 and 2015.
"Kyree is also coming from a very successful Seattle University program that won 23 games this past season," remarked Herrion. "We had to bring an older, mature, experienced point guard and Kyree definitely brings us that. Has played in winning programs at City College of San Francisco and Seattle. Very tough, quick, hard-nosed player that will have an impact on the perimeter. Look forward to having Kyree join our program".
Herrion, who is entering his 18th season at the helm of the Wildcats program, guided the team to a 15-13 overall record and a 10-8 mark in America East play, which was good for a tie for third place in the America East standings.
