DURHAM, N.H. -- The University of New Hampshire men's basketball program and head coach Bill Herrion has announced the addition of graduate student transfer Matt Herasme (Chester, N.Y.) to the Wildcats' roster for the upcoming 2022-23 season.
Herasme (6'4", 180 lbs) played the last four seasons at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. The guard played in 106 career games for the Red Foxes with 71 starts and 2,872 minutes played in his Marist career with 588 points (5.5 ppg) and 458 rebounds (4.3 rpg) with a 48.2% field goal percentage.

"We're really excited to have Matt join our basketball program at UNH," said Herrion. "We were looking to bring in an older, experienced, mature college player with this years class. Matt had a really good four-year career at Marist, and the things that he will bring to the floor for us are what we value in our program. Toughness, competitiveness, very good defensive player and a great team guy. We're looking forward to having Matt join our team."
Herasme was also a three-time MAAC All-Academic selection while at Marist.
During the 2019-20 season, he shot 39% (59-148) from the three-point arc in his junior campaign.
He played his high school basketball at Don Bosco Prep (NJ) and in each of his last two seasons he helped them to the final of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association Tournament of Champions, as the team posted a 28-3 record in 2017-18. Herasme also played for the Dominican Republic national team at the FIBA Under 18 Americas Championship in the summer of 2018.
