McGrath & Monahan Lead Wildcats at George Davis Invitational

Kevin McGrath wins high jump and Michael Monahan take 110-meter hurdles.
RESULTS
LOWELL, Mass. –Senior Kevin McGrath (Hopkinton, N.H.) placed first in the high jump and senior Michael Monahan (Tewksbury, Mass.) won the 110-meter hurdles as the University of New Hampshire men's track and field team competed at the George Davis Invitational at UMass Lowell.
McGrath won with a distance of 6'7'', while Monahan placed first with a time of 14.72.
"McGrath and Monahan in the 110 hurdles and the high jump were the story of the day for the men," said UNH head coach Robert Hoppler. "Andrew Fleming in the hammer and shot put did a great job and continues to grow stronger."
Senior Nate Hobbs (Peabody, Mass.) tied for third in the high jump as he cleared the bar at 6'4".
Senior Jack Kennefick (Walpole, Mass.) ran a career-best time of 56.71 in the 400-meter hurdles for a third-place finish.
Junior Forest MacKenzie (Deerfield, N.H.) placed third with a time of 15:21.65 in the 5,000 meters.
Junior Andrew Fleming (Acton, Mass.) led the Wildcats with a third-place finish in the hammer throw with a distance of 176'7", while senior Patrick Brogioli (Milford, Mass.) was fifth at 160'11".
Fleming also placed fifth in the shot put with a throw of 47'8".
UNH was fifth in the 4x400-meter relay as the team of junior Kenney McElroy (West Linn., Ore.), sophomore Zack Plaza (Auburn, N.H.), senior Spenser Sawyer (Windham, N.H.) and junior William Curran (Old Saybrook, Conn.) tallied a time of 3:27.10.
McElroy was sixth in the 800-meters with a time of 1:53.97.
Senior Andrew LePage (Morrisonville, N.Y.) tallied an eighth-place finish in the 3,0000-meter steeple chase with a time of 9:47.13.
Senior Matthew Walker (Westerly, R.I.) recorded a time of 9:32.03 in the two-mile run for ninth place.
The Wildcats will return to action at the Penn Relays (April 27-30) and at the Pre-Conference Meet at UMass (April 30).
