Patrick Brogioli Wins Bronze on Day 1 of America East Championships

RESULTS
BOSTON – Senior Patrick Brogioli (Milford, Mass.) won a bronze medal as the University of New Hampshire men's track and field team is currently in sixth place with 11 points after Day 1 of the America East Championships on Friday at Boston University.

Brogioli won his first career America East medal with bronze in the weight throw with a career best throw of 54' 4.50".

Senior Brian Genet (Merrimack, N.H.) is second after the first day of the Heptathlon with 2,760 points. His top finish was first in the long jump at 22' 7". Â Â

Senior Michael Monahan (Tewksbury, Mass.) placed second in the prelims of the 60-meter hurdles with a career-best time of 8.28 to qualify for tomorrow's finals.

The Distance Medley Relay team of freshman Kevin Finn (Kennebunk, Maine), sophomore Adrian Sutton (Rochester, N.H.), senior Colin Conery (Concord, N.H.) and freshman Aidan Shea (Amherst, Mass.) placed fourth with a time of 10:06.71.

The Wildcats will conclude the America East Championships on Saturday, Feb. 26.
