Watson Named an NFHCA Scholar of Distinction

BROCKPORT, N.Y. – Sophomore Olivia Watson (Easton, Pa.) of the University of New Hampshire field hockey team was named a 2021 National Field Hockey Coaches Association Scholar of Distinction on Feb. 15.

Watson was also a 2020 NFHCA Scholar of Distinction. She was one of 10 UNH field hockey players named to this year's NFHCA National Academic Squad on Feb. 8.

The Scholars of Distinction program recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.90 or higher through the first semester of the 2021-22 academic year.

Two NFHCA Division I academic awards remain to be announced. The National Academic Team Awards will be announced Feb. 21 and the National Scholar-Athlete on Feb. 23.

New Hampshire has played in the America East Championship tournament 14 of the last 15 years. The Wildcats boasted an All-American, two All-Northeast Region Team honorees and the America East Defensive Player of the Year this past season.
