'Cats Take Fourth Place in Boston at Joe Donahue Games on Friday Afternoon

BOSTON - The University of New Hampshire women's track and field team place fourth at the Joe Donahue Games on Friday afternoon at the Track at New Balance.
The Wildcats finished the day with 72 points as team and finished behind UConn (160), UAlbany (127) and host Northeastern (109).
"Lizzy Martel has continued with her impressive start to her track season with a strong run and victory in the mile. She was followed by Jill Walker in second," said UNH head coach Robert Hoppler. "Kira Nolan has transitioned nicely from cross country to the track. Natalie Fraser is off to a great start to the season."
Sophomore Elizabeth Martell (Essex Junction, Vt.) earned the win in the mile with a time of 4:50.89, while freshman Jill Walker (Simi Valley, Calif.) finished right behind Martell in second place with a mark of 4:56.40. Senior Kira Nolan (Richmond, Vt.) notched the victory in 3000 meter race at 10:00.68 for the 'Cats.
Junior Natalie Fraser (Gilford, N.H.) placed first in the 400 meter race with a mark of 59.45, while freshman Makena Lee (Northwood, N.H.) placed sixth in the pole vault with a jump of 10' 0".
UNH returns to action on Sunday, January 22 at home against Holy Cross from Paul Sweet Oval in Durham.
