Sevilla-Connelly finished sixth in his heat out of 16 athletes.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Graduate student Nicolas Sevilla-Connelly (Chester, N.H.) of the University of New Hampshire men's track and field team placed 20th in the 3,000 meter steeplechase at the 2021 NCAA Track and Field Preliminary Round at the University of North Florida on Friday. The top 12 advanced to the NCAA Championship from June 9-12 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.

Sevilla-Connelly placed 20th overall out of 48 athletes with a time of 8:59.59. He finished sixth in his heat out of 16 athletes. Sevilla-Connelly concludes his outstanding season as he qualified for the Prelims with a career-best time of 8:49.85 in the 3,000 meter steeplechase to win gold at the America East Championship on May 1. This was his first time competing at the NCAA Prelims.
