Bosibori Mosongo places third in heptathlon at UMass

She finished 3rd overall out of 12 competitors with a score of 4612 points
AMHERST, Mass. -- Graduate student Bosibori Mosongo (Indianapolis, Ind.) of the University of New Hampshire women's track and field team competed in the heptathlon at UMass on Tuesday and Wednesday at the UMass track & field complex.
She finished third overall out of 12 competitors with a score of 4612 points, finishing just a few points under her personal best of 4620. Bosibori finished second in the high jump (5'4.25') and the javelin (97'3"), while she placed third in the shot put (34'10.25"). She also came in fourth in both the 200 meter race (26.41) and the long jump (17'0"), to go along with a fifth-place effort in the 800 meter race with a time of 2:31.13.
"It was a very solid opening heptathlon for Bosibori," said UNH co-head coach Casey Carroll. "We are really looking forward to her competing during the next few weeks.
The Wildcats women's track and field team returns to action on Saturday, April 17 for the George Davis Invitational hosted by UMass Lowell. Meet time is 9am from Cushing Field Complex, the meet with be streamed live on AmericaEast.tv.
