Pierson & Crookshank Earn Hockey East All-Star Accolades

WAKEFIELD, Mass. – University of New Hampshire junior forwards Jackson Pierson (Zionsville, Ind.) and Angus Crookshank (North Vancouver, British Columbia) have earned Hockey East All-Star accolades for the first time in their careers. Pierson was selected to the second team and Crookshank was named to the third team.
Pierson leads the team in assists (16) and points (25), while he is tied for first in goals (9). He is second in Hockey East in points, while he is tied for second in assists and is tied for seventh in goals. Pierson is also ranked third in the league with 12 power play points. He was just recently named a semifinalist for the Walter Brown Award, which is awarded annually to the best American-born college hockey player in New England. For his career, Pierson has 19 goals and 45 assists for 64 points over 80 games.

Crookshank is tied for first on the team in goals (9), while he is tied for second in points (18) and is third in assists (9). He is tied for seventh in the league in goals. Crookshank was named the Army ROTC Hockey East Co-Player of the Month for February. He recorded five goals and six assists for 11 points over six games for the month. Crookshank had a career-night with four goals and one assist for five points on Feb. 6 in the 7-6 overtime win versus No. 20 UMass Lowell. For his career, the Ottawa Senators draft pick has 35 goals and 28 assists for 63 points over 89 games.
UNH defeated Maine on Wednesday by a 7-2 score in the Opening Round of the 2021 Hockey East Tournament to advance to the Quarterfinals. The Wildcats will play at No. 1-nationally ranked and top seed Boston College on Sunday, March 14 at 4:30 p.m. on NESN. UNH went 1-1-0 versus Boston College this season. The Wildcats won 4-3 in overtime at Conte Forum on Jan. 8 and then were edged by BC 3-2 in overtime at the Whittemore Center on Jan. 10.
