Lindsey Dumond is UNH's First Recipient of the Best Defensive Forward Award
WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Junior Lindsey Dumond (Hampton, N.H.) and freshman Nicole Kelly (Brantford, Ontario) of the University of New Hampshire women's hockey team were honored by Hockey East on Friday.
Dumond is the first UNH Wildcat to receive the Best Defensive Forward Award, which was first presented in the 2009-10 season. Kelly was voted to the Pro Ambitions All-Rookie Team.

Dumond has skated in all 21 games for the Wildcats this season. She rotated on three lines at left wing in the first 14 games of the season and skated the last seven games at center. Down the stretch, her line was often on the ice when the opponent's top line hit the ice. Dumond is one of New Hampshire's top penalty killers.
On the offensive end of the ice, Dumond has recorded two goals and an assist for three points. She scored a goal in UNH's wins against College of the Holy Cross (Dec. 23, 2020) and Merrimack College (Jan. 23). Dumond also tallied an assist Feb. 6 at Providence College.

Kelly leads UNH in points (14) and assists (nine), as well as shots (76). She is also tied for second in goals with five. Kelly leads all Hockey East rookies in points, is tied for eighth in assists, and tied for ninth in points.
Her season highlights include a pair of two-goal games against Holy Cross, the latter of which propelled UNH to the league quarterfinals. Kelly's other multiple-point game was back in early December, when she tallied two assists in a 4-3 win against eighth-ranked Boston University.
During the regular season, Kelly received three Hockey East awards. She was named Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Month for November/December, Player of the Week (Dec. 28), and Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week (Dec. 7).

UNH advanced out of the Hockey East Championship opening round with a 3-0 win against Holy Cross on Thursday night. The Wildcats face off against top-seeded Northeastern University in a Feb. 28 quarterfinal at Matthews Arena. Game time is 7 p.m. on NESN.
