When Jason Krog signed an NHL contract with the New York Islanders in May 1999, a week before he graduated from the University of New Hampshire, he did not know he was about to embark on an 18-year professional career. A career that was filled with many stops in many countries, many accomplishments and many memories.
Krog retired from professional hockey in 2017 after a 45-game season in Norway, where he had 21 goals and 26 assists at the age of 42.
Now, Krog, 46, resides in Vancouver, British Columbia, and his 6-year-old daughter, and he is still involved in the game that has meant so much to him throughout his personal and professional life.
"I am volunteering with my nephew's team doing a little bit of coaching, kind of giving back (to the game of hockey)," Krog said. "I'm doing some skill development and coaching a bantam team out here."
