STORYLINES
- UNH has a 10-6 lifetime record, including 5-2 on the road, vs. UMass Lowell, which elevated to D-I and joined America East in the 2013-14 season. The River Hawks extended their win streak in the series to four games Feb. 5 at Lundholm Gym, but the Wildcats were 74-63 victors the next day.
- With the regular season ending this weekend, Saturday's regular-season finale has major implications in the log-jammed America East standings. UNH is currently tied with Hartford for third in the standings at 8-6; Hartford is not playing this weekend, so the Wildcats would climb into the No. 3 seed with a win Saturday at UMass Lowell. And the third seed will host a playoff pod. A loss, however, would send the 'Cats down the standings and on the road for a playoff pod.
- Junior forward Jayden Martinez has made 14 of 20 3-pointers the past three games; that calculates to a .700 shooting percentage. Fueled by his long-range sharpshooting, Martinez is averaging 21.7 points in that span.
- Junior guard Qon Murphy has thrived in three games as a starter with averages of 12.7 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 27.7 minutes per game; he is shooting 52%(13 of 25) from the floor.
- Redshirt freshman guard Blondeau Tchoukuiegno has also been flourishing since being reinserted into the starting lineup Jan. 30 at Binghamton. In four games, he has averaged 10.0 points, 4.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 3.0 rebounds in 34.9 minutes per game. He has a .483 field goal percentage (14 of 29).
