
Harnett Earns Top Scholar-Athlete Honors; 21 Wildcats Named to All-Academic Team

Four Wildcats reach Distinguished Scholar status.
WAKEFIELD, Mass. – University of New Hampshire freshman goalie Nikki Harnett (Plymouth, Minn.) was one of 12 student-athletes from around the league to earn the prestigious honor of Hockey East Top Scholar-Athlete by posting a perfect 4.0 GPA for the season, while a total of 21 members of the UNH women's hockey team were named to the Hockey East All-Academic team. The 21 selections were third in the conference.
Harnett was also selected to the Academic All-Star team for having the top GPA for her position. Seniors Abby Chapman (Beverly Hills, Mich.), Meghara McManus (Milton, Mass.), Carlee Turner (Scottsdale, Ariz.) and Taylor Wenczkowski (Rochester, N.H.) reached "Distinguished Scholar" status for having qualified for the All-Academic team in each of their four seasons of varsity play.
175 student-athletes from women's hockey teams around the league earned spots on this year's All-Academic team. To be eligible for the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must post a 3.0 GPA or better in all academic semesters in which her team was actively competing.
Redshirt sophomore Ava Boutilier (Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island), junior Grace Middleton (Midland, Mich.), junior Ellie Sasaki (Markham, Ontario) and senior Hannah Touzos (Foxboro, Mass.) were named to the All-Academic team for the third time, while sophomore Lindsey Dumond (Hampton, N.H.), senior Nicole Dunbar (Coto de Caza, Calif.), sophomore Lauren Martin (Cambridge, Ontario), sophomore Tori Palumbo (Ayer, Mass.), senior Lexie Revkin (Gaithersburg, Md.), sophomore Emily Rickwood (Brantford, Ontario) and redshirt sophomore Paige Rynne (Ancaster, Ontario) received this accolade for the second time.
Freshman Annie Berry (Milton, Mass.), freshman Jada Christian (Caledon East, Ontario), junior Julia Scammell (Truro, Novia Scotia), freshman Ava Thewes (Clarkston, Mich.) and freshman Tamara Thiérus (Saint-Jérôme, Quebec) earned this honor for the first time.
