Eight podium finishes for New Hampshire leads to a team score of 50.5.
BOSTON – University of New Hampshire fifth-year senior Shannon Murdock(Exeter, N.H.) claimed her sixth individual America East Championship as the Wildcats' women's track & field team ends day one of the 2020 America East Indoor Championship Meet in second place.
Murdock took first overall in the 5000-meter run, her first recorded finish in the event, with a time of 16:49.55. Murdock was followed up in second place by grad-transfer Eve Glasergreen(Clinton, N.J.), who had her best time in the 5000m since transferring to UNH at 16:57.46. Rounding out the 5000m podium for the Wildcats was junior Caroline Mahoney(Bedford, N.H.) taking fifth with a new personal best time of 17:14.03.
Two other Wildcat runner-up performances highlighted day one of competition; in the pole vault, freshman Danielle Heine(Waverly, Pa.) cleared a height of 11'5.75" and won her first America East hardware, finishing second in the event. Also scoring on the podium was junior Jordan Hoffman(North Chelmsford, Mass.) in a tie for sixth place with a vault of 10'6".
Looking for its third distance-medley relay championship in a row, New Hampshire was just barely edged out by Binghamton at the finish line, as the Wildcats finished second in 11:41.92 to Binghamton's 11:41.67. The Wildcat team consisted of senior Michaella Conery(Concord, N.H.), sophomore Zakiya Scott(Brooklyn, N.Y.), sophomore Lauren Dean(Gilmanton Iron Works, N.H.) and junior Nicole Yeomans(Foxborough, Mass.). The time was UNH's best DMR time of the season.
New Hampshire sits in second place after day one of competition with 50.5 points, behind only UAlbany at 61, and ahead of third-place Binghamton at 26.

Senior multi-eventer Bosibori Mosongo(Indianapolis, Ind.) set a new personal best in the pentathlon with a score of 3435, finishing fourth in the final standings. She set career bests in the shot put and the 800m, finishing first in the shot with a throw of 35'4.5" and second in the 800m in 2:28.41. Her pentathlon score was just 50 points off the school record of 3485 set in 2011 by assistant coach Jacky Mendes.
Sophomore Sarah Williams(Dover, N.H.) found herself on the America East podium for the third time in indoor, scoring fifth in the weight throw with a distance of 54'2.75". Joining her on the podium was senior Alyssa Colbert(Smithfield, R.I.) taking eighth with a new personal best throw of 52'1".
Sophomore Saige Tudisco(Haverhill, Mass.) qualified for the 60-meter hurdle finals on Saturday, taking sixth overall in the preliminaries with a time of 9.15 seconds¸ a new career-best.
