‘Cats Run Away with Home Tri-Meet Victory

UNH wins 13 of the 17 scored events.
DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire women's track & field team took on Maine and Vermont, along with some throwers from Dartmouth, in a tri-meet at the Paul Sweet Oval in the UNH Fieldhouse. The Wildcats took the meet victory with first place finish with a team score of 226 points, as UNH took first place in 13 of the 17 scored events.
SPRINTS
The Wildcats took three victories in the short-distance, with sophomore Crismeily Borg (Nashua, N.H.) taking first overall in the 60-meter dash, with a time of 7.39 seconds, followed by freshman Lauren Noble (Rochester, N.H.) in second at 7.64 seconds.
In the 400m dash, sophomore Kelly Hamlin (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) took first overall with a time of 1:03.00; the runner up was sophomore Julia Jankowski (Derry, N.H.) with a new personal best time of 1:04.37.
Finally, in the 500m dash, senior Elise Renahan (Atkinson, N.H.) took first with a time of 1:20.44, followed by fellow senior Brianne Moss (Shrewsbury, Mass.) in second at 1:20.87.
MIDDLE DISTANCE/DISTANCE
In the 800m, junior Shaylyn Saunders (Hudson, N.H.) got the win with her first plaqce finish in 2:22.91. She was followed up by newcomer Cailey Archer (Berthoud, Colo.) with her first collegiate result in the 800m, 2:25.05.
The Wilcats also had the winner in the mile, sophomore Sydney Rice (Brooklyn, N.Y.) with a new personal best time of 5:17.06.
The duo of senior Morgan Sansing (Chester, N.H.) and junior Cassie Shea (Concord, N.H.) finished one-two in the 3000m; Sansing took first overall in 10:34.68, and Shea took second in 10:38.28.
JUMPS/HURDLES
The Wildcats also finished one-two in the 55-meter hurdles, with sophomore Kaitlyn Covell (Loudon, N.H.) winning the event in 9.46 seconds, and fellow sophomore Acadia Momm-White (Portsmouth, N.H.) taking second in 9.61 seconds.
Returning from the BU Terrier Invite the previous evening, sophomore Saige Tudisco (Haverhill, Mass.) took wins in both the high jump (5'5") and the long jump (17'6"). She was followed up in the triple jump by fellow Terrier Invitational competitor Bosibori Mosongo (Indianapolis, Ind.), who took runner up with a distance of 16'10".
In the pole vault, both UNH vaulters Danielle Heine (Waverly, Pa.) and Jordan Hoffman (North Chelmsford, Mass.) hit the best mark of the day at 10'10". The mark was a new career-best for Hoffman.
RELAYS
UNH swept both relays in the meet, with the team of Borg, Covell, Renahan, and Hamlin taking first in the 4x400-meter relay in 4:06.92, and the team of Michaella Conery (Concord, N.H.), Lauren Noble, Heather Linscott (Hingham, Mass.) and Elisabeth Danis (Nottingham, N.H.) took the victory in the distance-medley relay in 12:42.42.
THROWS
Finally in the throws, sophomore Sarah Williams (Dover, N.H.) set a new personal best in the weight throw, taking second place with a distance of 54'3.75". Williams moves ever-closer to the school record for the indoor weight throw, set at 57'3.5"(set in 2009) in just her second season with the Wildcats. Williams also scored for the 'Cats in the shot put, taking third with a distance of 40'6.25"
