Wildcats Win New England Relay for Second Straight Year

Wildcats split time at NEICAAA’s and ECAC/IC4A’s
DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire women's track & field team were active in two post-season meets this weekend, at the New England Championships (NEICAAA) and ECAC/IC4A championships.
NEICAAA
At New England's, New Hampshire collected a gold medal in the 4x800 relay for the second straight year. The team of sophomore Cayla Barretto (Woburn, Mass.), junior Michaella Conery (Concord, N.H.), freshman Lauren Dean (Gilmanton Iron Works, N.H.), and senior Emileigh Glode (Boxborough, Mass.) took first with a time of 9 minutes, 5.38 seconds.
Elsewhere in the meet, junior thrower Alyssa Colbert (Smithfield, R.I.) took runner-up in the discus throw, with a distance of 144 feet, 4 inches, and junior distance runner Meg Champagne (Plattsburgh, N.Y.), took sixth in the 5000 meter run in 17:14.72. Freshman Saige Tudisco (Haverhill, Mass.) also scored in the meet, taking eighth in the long jump at 18'4.5".
Junior transfer Bosibori Mosongo (Indianapolis, Ind.) took fifth in the heptathlon, setting a new personal best as a Wildcat with a score of 4620. She took first in the heptathlon shotput, with a personal best distance of 35'0.25", and third in the heptathlon long jump with a distance of 18'1.5", another new personal best.
Along with the winning 4x800 team, two other Wildcat relay teams scored at New England's: In the 4x400, the team of senior Jessica Hackett (Dover, N.H.), freshman Kelly Hamlin (Ballston Lake, N.Y.), junior Elise Renahan (Atkinson, N.H.), and freshman Zakiya Scott (Brooklyn, N.Y.) took fifth in 3:53.32, and in the 4x100 the team of freshman Alyssa Doust (Marshfield, Mass.), Hackett, freshman Maria Virga (Derry, N.H.) and freshman Crismeily Borg (Nashua, N.H.) took seventh in 48.51 seconds.
ECAC/IC4A
Two Wildcats scored in the ECAC/IC4A Championshp meet, in a middle distance event and a long-distance event.
Fifth-year Danielle Gajewski (Danville, N.H.) took fourth in the 800m, with another two minute, seven second finish. Her latest was 2:07.61¸which is milliseconds from her personal best in the event, and UNH's best finish in the event this season.
In the 10,000m, sophomore Caroline Mahoney (Bedford, N.H.) took third with a time of 36:28.26. Mahoney also owns UNH's best finish in that event this season, which is her personal best time of 35:56.15.

The NCAA East Northeast Regional takes place in Jacksonville, Florida from May 23 to 26. Official entries to the NCAA Regional rounds are finalized Monday, May 13.
