Relays Propel ‘Cats to Victory at Jay Carisella Invite

Two relay wins and strong scoring performances across the meet secure a meet win for the Wildcats.
DEDHAM, Mass. – The University of New Hampshire women's track and field team took a meet victory for the second straight weekend, finishing in first place out of eight teams at the Jay Carisella Coaches Invitational, hosted by Northeastern on Saturday, April 20..
Two Wildcat relay teams took first in the sprints; the team of freshman Isabella Livingston (West Hartford, Conn.), senior Jessica Hackett (Dover, N.H.), sophomore Maria Virga (Derry, N.H.) and freshman Crismeily Borg (Nashua, N.H.) took first in the 4x100 relay, with a finishing time of 49.52 seconds.
In the 4x400, it was the team of junior Elise Renahan (Atkinson, N.H.), Hackett, freshman Zakiya Scott (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and senior Emileigh Glode (Boxborough, Mass.) taking first with a time of 4:04.84.
The third event win for UNH in the meet was in the javelin throw; sophomore Lauren Quann (Pictou, Nova Scotia) took first with a throw of 134 feet, 1 inch, a new personal best. The runner up in the javelin was junior Natalie Howes (Londonderry, N.H.) with a distance of 119'6".
New Hampshire won the meet with a team score of 216 points, beating out host school Northeastern by 27 points; fellow America East squad Vermont taking third with 120 points.

A busy week is on deck for New Hampshire, traveling to the Penn Relays from Thursday, April 25 to Saturday the 27th. New Hampshire hosts the America East pre-conference meet Saturday, April 27 at the Reggie Atkins Track & Field Facility beginning at 11 A.M., one week ahead of the America East Championship meet hosted by Albany, May 4 and 5.

- Along with their relay wins, three relay members scored high in other events across the meet:
- Glode and Scott took 2nd and 3rd in the 400 meter hurdles. Glode finished second in 1:08.42, Scott finished third with a new personal best time of 1:09.23.
- Hackett took second in the 200 meter dash in 25.84 seconds.
- Freshman Saige Tudisco (Haverhill, Mass.) scored in three events in the top three, including a runner up in the 100 meter hurdles. Tudisco took second with a time of 15.02 seconds.
- In the long jump, Tudisco took third with a new personal best distance of 17'11.75". Behind her in fourth was junior Bosibori Mosongo (Indianapolis, Ind.) with a distance of 17'2".
- Tudisco also placed third in the high jump, her top mark was 5'3".
- Freshman Kelly Hamlin (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) took runner up in the 400 meter dash, in 1:02.02.
- Junior Morgan Sansing (Chester, N.H.) was the runner up in the 10k, finishing in 39:53.27.
- A two-three finish in the 3000 meter steeple chase, junior Michaella Conery (Concord, N.H.) set a new personal best, finishing second in 11:21.48. Fellow junior Madeline Quigley (Rowley, Mass.) took third with a time of 11:35.70
- In the discus throw, junior Alyssa Colbert (Smithfield, R.I.) took second, her best throw going 140'1".
- Senior Sabrina Anderson (Hopewell, N.J.) took runner up in the pole vault with 10'4".
