New Hampshire heads to Northeastern ahead of pre-conference week.
DURHAM, N.H. – After two straight weeks hosting a home meet, the University of New Hampshire men's track & field team heads to Northeastern for the Jay Carisella Coaches Invitational this Saturday, April 20 at the newly renovated Solomon Track Facility in Dedham, Mass.
The Wildcats will look to capitalize on two big home victories as the championship season draws closer, starting with the America East pre-conference meet next Saturday hosted by New Hampshire.
New Hampshire comes into the weekend off of hot performances by throwers Zachary Astle (Newbury, N.H.) and Hani Traboulsi (Bensalem, Pa.) who won the shot put and discus throws, respectively. Another bright spot for the Wildcats recently has been the jumpers, led by freshman Nate Hobbs (Peabody, Mass.), Jordan Buckmire (Nashua, N.H.) and Emmanuel Nkounkou (Dover, N.H.).
On the track, the 'Cats have been led by fifth-year senior Timothy Kenefick (Guilford, Conn.), junior Joseph Hook (Rockaway, N.J.) and Aidan Sullivan (Nashua, N.H.), all with big individual wins in last weekend's home invitational.

FROM THE COACH:
[On the Jay Carisella Invite]
"In it's second year, basically the first year the facility has been open. They've run a couple meets, it'll be interesting to see what teams show, but Northeastern will be there and they're one of the better teams in New England. We'll have a whole team meet, going into next week's team meets at home and at Penn, we're looking forward to continuing improvement from all the freshmen to the veterans."
