Speidel Named to America East All-Academic Team

Junior Edward Speidel makes second straight Indoor All-Academic roster.
BOSTON – University of New Hampshire junior thrower Edward Speidel (Dover, N.H.) has been named to the America East Indoor Track & Field All-Academic team, the league announced Wednesday afternoon.
Speidel, an accounting major, was named a winner of the conference's Elite 18 award, given to an athlete or athletes with the highest GPA competing in the conference championship meet. Speidel was a co-award winner this year, with a 4.00 GPA, placing eighth in the weight throw at the 2019 America East Indoor Championships.
Speidel's 4.00 GPA was one of the only two perfect GPA's on the men's All-Academic team this year.
This is Speidel's second-straight indoor season being named to the All-Academic team, as he was a member of the 2018 indoor team, also with a 4.00 GPA.
Speidel and the Wildcats return to action as the 2019 Outdoor Track & Field next weekend, March 29 and 30 at the annual Raleigh Relays, hosted by NC State.
