‘Cats Return to Action with Holy Cross Dual Meet
1/18/2019 11:09:00 AM | Women's Track & Field
DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire women's track & field team resumes the indoor track season after a month hiatus with a home dual-meet with Holy Cross on Saturday, January 19 at the Paul Sweet Oval.
The meet will serve as a welcome back to action, being the first meet since December 8 at Dartmouth.
The Wildcats will look for top returners Shannon Murdock (Exeter, N.H.) and Danielle Gajewski (Danville, N.H.) to lead the way for the Wildcats. Murdock looks to compete Saturday in the 800m run, and Gajewski in the 500m. Both will also compete in part of relay teams.
The 'Cats also look for big performances out of their core of short and long sprinters; the core includes senior Jessica Hackett (Dover, N.H.), senior Emily Glode (Boxborough, Mass.) and junior Elise Renahan (Atkinson, N.H.).
The meet will also be an opportunity for more of the team's younger athletes to get more experience; freshman Saige TuDisco (Haverhill, Mass.) is off to a great start in her first season of action, winning the high jump at Maine and getting second in the 60 meter hurdles. Sarah Williams (Dover, N.H.) will look to continue her strong start in the throws, after winning the shot put at Maine, and placing fourth in the weight throw. A crew of young runners, highlighted by sprinter Crismeily Borg (Nashua, N.H.) will also look to make an impact.

FROM THE COACH:
"The first meet back is an opportunity to see how our winter break training went. It's always good to have a home meet, and some head-to-head competition in a dual meet format. The athletes are always excited to run at home, and it's a good chance for alumni and fans to come out."
