QUICK HITTERS
New Hampshire is led by 20th-year head coach Sean McDonnell, who has guided the Wildcats to the NCAA FCS tournament each of the last 14 years (longest active streak in the nation).
Coach McDonnell ascended into a tie with predecessor Bill Bowes at No. 3 on the CAA Football leaderboard with 97 career victories when UNH defeated third-ranked James Madison, 35-24, on Nov. 3. The top two on the list are Andy Talley (Villanova, 142) and Jimmye Laycock (William & Mary, 111).
UNH has a 4-2 lifetime record against UAlbany, but the Great Danes have won each of the last two matchups. In last year's regular-season finale, the Great Danes won 15-0 at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium against the 16th-ranked Wildcats.
UAlbany spoiled UNH's Senior Day in 2016 with a 36-25 comeback victory in which the visitors outscored the 'Cats 29-3 in the second half; Elijah Ibitokun-Hanks carried 39 times for 298 yards and three touchdowns.
New Hampshire was a 16-6 victor against seventh-ranked Elon in last year's Senior Day game.
UNH has a 12-5 record at Wildcat Stadium. Since the start of the 14-year playoff run, the 'Cats are 71-16 at home (.816) with a 48-16 mark (.750) against CAA teams.
With four defensive touchdowns, the Wildcats rank No. 2 in the nation in that stat.
The Wildcats are a disciplined bunch that ranks No. 2 in fewest penalties per game (3.89) and No. 5 in fewest penalty yards per game (35.33).
UNH's defense recorded six turnovers last weekend against James Madison. The previous time the Wildcats recorded six takeaways was Sept. 15, 2012 in a 43-10 win against Central Connecticut State.
New Hampshire has recorded a win against a Top-5 opponent three of the last four years. UNH upended No. 3 James Madison, 35-24, last week. The 'Cats were 21-15 victors at No. 4 Central Arkansas in the 2017 NCAA 2nd round. In 2015, UNH recorded a 30-25 home win against No. 5 Richmond.
UNH had a pair of 75-yard scores last week vs. James Madison. Evan Horn had a 75-yard interception return for a touchdown in the second quarter and Trevor Knight scored on a 75-yard run early in the fourth quarter.
