GAME RECAP
- UNH generated the first dangerous scoring chance 20 minutes into the game when Erin McNamara (Sanbornton, N.H.) advanced along the left endline and slipped a pass to the middle, where Bailey Fanikos (Lynnfield, Mass.) struck a rising shot that was turned aside by Espeland.
- The Wildcats generated a penalty corner with four minutes remaining in the first half. The battery of Bloem van den Brekel (Eindhoven, Netherlands) and Rachel Bossi (Chelmsford Mass.) set up Fanikos, whose low shot toward the left post was blocked away by a diving Espeland.
- UVM took a 1-0 lead with 95 seconds remaining in the first half. In a quick transition attack, Warren corralled a long pass inside the 25 on the left side. She entered the top circle and pulled the ball around Rudert, who went into a slide, and then rolled a 10-yard shot into the open cage.
- The Catamounts threatened again in the closing seconds, when Clodagh Ferry's rising blast from the top-left was stopped by Rudert's blocker.
- Vermont struck quickly in the second half – 3:51 after the whistle blew to resume play – to extend the advantage to 2-0. On a restart outside the circle, the ball was moved back to Peppe Haanjes. She slipped an entry pass to Warren, whose shot from the top-left went inside the near post.
- In the 45th minute, Fanikos' low drive from the left wing was stopped by Espeland's leg pad.
- Four minutes later on a UNH corner, Sliz received a return pass at the top of the circle and sent a shot barely wide left of the cage.
- The Wildcats converted a corner into a goal at 57:19. Katie Audino (Severn, Md.) played a short corner to McNamara, whose rising blast was stopped by Espeland. Sliz collected the rebound at the top of the circle, however, and her blast sailed inside the right post to lift the 'Cats within 2-1.
- UVM responded with a goal less than three minutes later to reestablish a two-goal lead. Carla Godsman inserted the ball on a short corner to Rachel Philips, who drove a rising shot into the cage at 60:12.
- With 5:30 remaining, UNH was awarded another corner. The insert to the top of the circle was mishandled, but the ball found its way to McNamara on the top-left and her low blast went just left of the cage.
- The visiting 'Cats kept the home 'Cats at bay the rest of the way to secure the win.
NOTEBOOK
- New Hampshire has a 33-7 lifetime record against Vermont.
- This was UVM's second win in 20 games played in Durham. The other win was 4-3 in overtime in 2006.

- UNH's next three games are on the road – all against nationally-ranked teams – in an eight-day span.
