Murnane Takes Pole Vault to Lead 'Cats at URI

KINGSTON, R.I. - Â Junior Kari Murnane (Byram, N.J.) led a strong showing in the pole vault to pace the University of New Hampshire women's indoor track & field team to a fourth-place result in the Coaches Tribute invitational meet at the University of Rhode Island on Saturday.

Murnane won the event with a vault of 11 feet, 5.75 inches. Sophomore Grace Slevin (Bozeman, Mont.) tied for second and sophomore Sabrina Anderson (Homewell, N.J.) tied for sixth.

The Wildcats collected 77.25 points to grab fourth place of 14teams. The University of Massachusetts won the meet with 125.5 points. Rhode Island (118.75) was second and Holy Cross (81) was third.

UNH was ranked 36th in the country and 10th in the Northeast Region this week.Â

- One group of Wildcats will compete at the David Hemery Invitational at Boston University on Saturday, Feb. 11.
