Wildcats Finish Second at America East Championships

WORCESTER, Mass. – The University of New Hampshire women's swimming and diving team finished second at the America East Championships Sunday held at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. The Wildcats tallied 717.5 points over the four-day event.

- 400-Yard Freestyle Relay – Harvey, Corinne Carbone (Medway, Mass.), Brittany Moffatt (Cedar Falls, Iowa), Baykova – 3:23.07
Final Day Notes:
- Baykova's time of 49.84 in the preliminaries of the 100-yard freestyle was a NCAA-B cut time.
- Diver Hailee Miller (Milton, Mass.) was named the Diver of the Meet after becoming the first Wildcat in program history to take first place in a diving event at the AE Championships.
- Carbone was named Rookie of the Meet as she earned one individual gold medal in 400-yard individual medley and one team gold medal in 400-yard freestyle relay.

Baykova earned her third title of the conference championships as she claimed gold in the 100-yard freestyle. Baykobva touched the wall to a time of 50.22 seconds. In the preliminaries, she claimed an NCAA-B cut time of 49.84 seconds.
The quartet of Harvey, Carbone, Moffatt and Baykova capped off the day with a gold medal in the 400-yard freestyle relay. The team collectively tallied a time of 3:23.07, faster than their seed time of 3:31.13. The team bested UMBC by just one-one hundredth of a second.
The Wildcats took first and second place in the 200-yard butterfly with top performances Harvey and Vivienne El-Sibay (Munich, Germany). Harvey claimed gold with a time of 2:03.08 while El-Sibay tagged the wall with a time of 2:04.33.
The first event of the finals was the grueling 1,650-yard freestyle in which Moffatt took fourth while junior Bridget Miller (Longmeadow, Mass.) took fifth place. Moffatt tagged the wall to a time of 17:08.26 while Miller clocked in at 17:08.26.
In the second event of the night, the 200-yard backstroke, Carbone came in fourth place with a time of 2:02.41, nearly one second faster than her preliminary time of 2:03.39. Senior Sarah Broderick (Haverhill, Mass.) took seventh place with a time of 2:03.60.
In the 200-yard breaststroke, senior Sarah Olver (Durham, N.H.) took third place with a time of 2:18.94 to earn the Wildcats 16 points. Freshman Milana Evsten (Stockholm, Sweden) clocked in at fourth place with a time of 2:20.23, exactly one second faster than her preliminary time.
