GAME RECAP
- For the second time in as many days, BU scored in the opening 90 seconds of the game. Victoria Bach carried the puck through the right circle and scored from close range on a high shot at 1:30.
- The Terriers went on the first power play of the game at 5:04. Cashin made three saves, including denying Nina Rodgers from point blank range and again on the rebound, to keep the margin at one goal.
- One of the referees signaled a BU goal at 8:51 but, after video review, it was ruled that Cashin made the save and the score remained 1-0.
- UNH's penalty kill was once again successful when a Wildcat was sent to the penalty box for interference at 9:55. Cashin stopped one shot during that two-minute span.
- The 'Cats converted their first power play opportunity of the game into a goal and 1-1 tie at 15:43. Julia Fedeski (Algonquin Highlands, Ontario) initiated the scoring sequence with a pass from the right point to Carlee Toews (Grand Prairie, Alberta) on the half-boards. Toews' centering pass found Schlagel in the middle of the slot and she ripped a shot inside the left post.
- For the second time in as many periods, BU struck early when Rebecca Leslie scores to put the Terriers back in front at 1:25 of the second period.
- Boston U. extends the advantage to 3-1 with a power-play goal at 7:29. Alexis Crossley's screened shot from the right point sails into the cage.
- New Hampshire makes it 2-for-2 on the power play at 15:56 to close within 3-2. Jonna Curtis (Elk River, Minn.) moves the puck from the slot to the right wing, where Schlagel's shot is knocked down by Hanson. The rebound is loose in the crease, however, and Pelletier pokes the puck across the goal line.
- UNH went back on the power play at 18:19 of the second and carried 19 seconds of the skater into the third period. Hanson made three saves – two before the second intermission – to preserve the Terriers' one-goal lead.
- The Wildcats recorded three shots on their next power play at 11:30 but could not net the equalizer against Hanson.
- Bach netted her second goal of the game on a backhander from the right doorstep at 17:14 to reestablish a two-goal margin of 4-2.
- Cashin was pulled in favor of an extra skater with 2:32 on the clock, but Maddie Elia potted an empty-net goal 19 seconds later (at 17:47) to secure the victory.
- Fedeski extended both her assist and point streak to four games with a helper on UNH's first goal of the game. She has 0-5-5 in that span.
- Schlagel recorded a goal and an assist both games of the weekend series vs. BU.
- Pelletier scored a goal for the second consecutive game. She tallied 2-1-3 on the weekend.
- Curtis recorded her 97th career point on her 47th career assist, which came in the second period.
- UNH has lost 14 consecutive games to BU.
