Camara Records Double-Double in 78-60 Loss at Texas

Leissner Scores Team-High 14 Points in Return to Lone Star State
AUSTIN, Texas – Iba Camara (Dakar, Senegal) recorded a double-double and Tanner Leissner (Converse, Texas) scored a team-high 14 points in the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team's 78-60 loss to the University of Texas in Tuesday night's PK80 Regional Site game presented by State Farm at the Frank C. Erwin Center.
Camara scored 12 points and pulled down a team-high 10 rebound for his 17th career double-double. Leissner finished with 14 points, six rebounds, two assists and a blocked shot in 37 minutes.
Also making his return home to the Lone Star State, Jacoby Armstrong (Dallas, Texas) finished with 11 points on 3-for-5 shooting, all on 3-pointers, two rebounds and three assists; he was limited to 16 minutes because of foul trouble. Another Texas native, Jordan Reed (Lucas, Texas), had six points, three rebounds and two steals.
Texas was led by Dylan Osetkowski (17p, 14r) and Andrew Jones (16p).
UNH is now 1-1 and Texas improves to 2-0.

THE DIFFERENCE
- Texas led by six points, 29-23, with 3:45 left in the first half but closed with a 10-2 run to build a 14-point advantage, and then had a 12-6 spurt in the opening six minutes of the second half to take a 51-31 lead.
- Texas made 29 of 61 field goals (47.5%) while UNH was 19-for-60 (31.7%) from the floor.
- The Longhorns outscored the Wildcats 38-14 in the paint.
GAME RECAP
- Armstrong's 3-point shooting kept the 'Cats close the opening 4:05 of the game as he drained three shots from behind the arc, and UNH trailed 12-11 when Leissner hit a pair of free throws after the media timeout at 15:31.
- A layup by Camara pulled New Hampshire within 21-17 with 9:44 left in the first half and the deficit was 25-19 at the third media timeout (with 6:46 on the clock).
- Texas took its first double-digit lead of the game, 29-19, at 5:24.
- Leissner's jumper was followed by a pair of Armstrong free throws to pull the 'Cats within 29-23 at 3:45.
- The Longhorns closed the first half with a 10-2 run to take a 39-25 lead into halftime.
- Texas stretched the lead to 20 points, 51-31, at 14:13 of the second half.
- UNH trimmed the margin to 59-44 on a 3-pointer by Elijah Jordan (Orlando, Fla.) at 9:43, but the Wildcats would get no closer the rest of the way.
UNH NOTEBOOK
- This was the first meeting between New Hampshire and Texas.
- Leissner climbed to No. 5 on UNH's career leaderboard for field goals made with 485; he tied the game tied for sixth with Scott Drapeau (1993-95) at 482 and surpassed Greg Steele (1983-87) at 483.
- Leissner, who made 8 of 10 foul shots, added to his program record for career free throws made, which now stands at 378.
- Armstrong fouled out with 9:03 remaining in the second half with UNH trailing 62-44.
- New Hampshire recorded a 7-6 edge in second-chance points.
- UNH committed just 14 turnovers. Texas finished with nine.
