DURHAM, N.H. – Jessica Schmidt (Warrington, Pa.) scored a goal late in each half to erase the University of New Hampshire's two-goal deficit, but the University of Maine scored 2:27 into overtime to record a 3-2 victory in Sunday afternoon's field hockey game at rain-soaked Memorial Field.
Casey Crowley carried the ball down the right side of the field, penetrated the circle and fired a low shot past charging UNH goalkeeper Kelsey Rudert (North Grafton, Mass.) to give Maine the road win.

GAME SUMMARY
- Maine controlled play the opening 15 minutes to build a 2-0 lead. Danielle Aviani gave the Black Bears an early lead when she corralled a loose ball on the right side of the circle and lifted a shot into the open cage at 3:36.
- On a penalty corner, Ella Mosky inserted the ball to Riley Field to set up Samantha Wagg's direct shot that went inside the right post for a two-goal advantage at 15:03.
- UNH's most dangerous first-half scoring chances came in the last 10 minutes. Aggie Sutherland (Dauphin, Pa.) executed a short corner to Lindsey Nerbonne (Bow, N.H.), whose low blast to the left of the cage was just beyond Sutherland's outstretched stick.
- With 5:30 remaining in the first half, the Wildcats generated another corner. This time, Sutherland's pass to the top of the circle was controlled by Ashley Mendonca (Brampton, Ontario), who slipped a pass to the left and Nerbonne's drive was stopped by Corbett.
- One minute later, Nerbonne utilized her stickwork to free herself near the top of the circle for a reverse-stick shot that bounced just wide right of the cage.
- UNH continued to pressure and converted its sixth corner of the first half into a goal. The battery of Sutherland and Gianna Bensaia (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) set up Schmidt's direct shot from the top of the circle that was rifled into the bottom-right corner of the cage with 17 seconds on the clock.
- Early in the second half, Bensaia corralled an entry pass behind the defense on the left side, settled the ball and lifted a shot that Maine goalie Emma Cochran knocked down.
- Less than two minutes later, Nerbonne struck a rising line drive blocked away by Cochran.
- With 13:30 left in regulation, Bensaia found Nerbonne down low. Nerbonne tried to get Cochran to commit, but the goalie held her ground to make the save.
- UNH converted another corner into the game-tying goal at 68:03. This time, Katie Audino (Severn, Md.) made the insert to Bensaia at the top of the circle to set up Schmidt's low blast into the cage to tie the score 2-2.
- Crowley scored on the first shot of the extra session to end the game.
- Rudert made two saves – one each half.
- Cochran, who entered the game at the start of the second half, was credited with the win. She stopped 4 of 5 shots on goal in 37:27 of action.
- UM starting goalie Emily Corbett made one save and allowed one goal.
