DURHAM, N.H. - The University of New Hampshire men's cross country team continues its season on Friday, Sept. 18 (3:30 p.m.) with a dual meet at the University of Maine.
With mainly freshmen and sophomore athletes competing, the UNH/Maine dual meet is a chance for younger student-athletes to get competition under their belt.
LAST TIME OUT
UNH is coming off a fourth-place finish at the Wolfie Invitational on Sept. 12, which is the venue for the 2015 America East Cross Country Championship (Oct. 31).
TOP-7 WILDCATS LAST TIME OUT
MISTRETTA RETURNS
Sophomore Neil Mistretta (Durham, N.H.) enters his second meet of the season following a 21st place (16:33.0) finish in the season opener (Sept. 5). The seventh Wildcat to finish in the meet was the final scorer for the 'Cats in the 5K race. He averaged a mile time of 5:19.6.
THIRD TIME'S THE CHARM
Freshman Brett Hoerner (Manchester, N.H.) enters his third meet of the season. At the home meet, Hoerner finished 25th overall (16:48.7) followed by a 40th place finish in the 8K race at Stony Brook's Wolfie Invitational (Sept. 12). Hoerner is one of six New Hampshire Natives to join to 'Cats this season.
AFTER THE BREAK
Sophomore Seamus Sargeant (Fairpoint, N.Y.) will enter this meet after taking last week off following the season opener. Sargeant collected a 34th place finish (17:02.3) with a 5:29.0 average mile time on the 5K course.

Sophomore Joseph Poggi (Derry, N.H.) will suit up for the 'Cats for the second week in a row. The New Hampshire Native placed 38th on the 8K course at Stony Brook. Poggi is one of three New Hampshire residents in the sophomore class and aims to make an impact in the upcoming dual meet.
SAME MEET NEW YEAR
The Wildcats travel to Maine for competition every year, and this year is no different. In last season's meet, New Hampshire pulled out a first place finish out of four America East member schools. The 'Cats top-three runners were seniors who were lost to graduation in the spring. Mistretta placed 29th overall at the meet with a time of 27:40.3.
DUE NEXT
New Hampshire will compete next at the Boston Coast to Coast meet Friday, Sept. 25 hosted by Boston College.
