Malark tallies ninth-place finish in gold race (varsity) 8000m
DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Junior Gavin Malark (Stratham, N.H.) of the UNH men's cross country team recorded a ninth-place finish in the men's gold race 8000m while freshman Lucas Archer (Monkton, Md.) paced the Wildcat lineup with a 17-place finish in the navy 8000m to highlight Saturday's 53rd UMass Dartmouth Cross Country Invitational at the Robert Dowd Cross Country Course.

UNH placed fifth among 32 teams in the gold (varsity) race with 192 points. Stonehill won the race with 35 points, followed by UMass Lowell (103), Holy Cross (126) and Southern Connecticut State (192).
Malark crossed the finish line in 24 minutes, 57.49 seconds for nine points. Senior Matthew Allen (East Kingston, N.H.) placed 37th in 25:42.50 (35 points), and junior Carson Eames (Littleton, N.H.) finished in 25:47.95 for 41st place (39 points).
The Wildcats placed third in the navy race (sub-varsity). Archer's time of 26:31.56 (11 points) was followed by junior Carter Norton (East Greenbush, N.Y.), who placed 30th (27:02.42) for 17 points, and freshman Erich Ramos (Silver Spring, Md.), who took 31st place (18 points) in 27:03.49.
