Senior's fifth-place finish headlines five Wildcats in top 16

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Senior Zachary Hooper (Concord, N.H.) finished in a team-best fifth place to headline five UNH men's cross country runners who placed in the top 16, as the Wildcats totaled 52 points to place runner-up to Holy Cross (26 points) in Saturday's season-opening Suffolk Short Course Classic at Mark Coogan XC Course at Highland Park.

Hooper tallied a time of 15 minutes, 47.28 seconds to earn five points. Senior John Murphy (Deerfield, N.H.) placed eighth (eight points) in 15:52.13, followed by sophomore Carson Eames (Littleton, N.H.) in 11^th (15:59.44, 11 points), senior Joshua Lesniak (Durham, Conn.) in 12^th (16:00.21, 12 points) and junior Julian Rime (New City, N.Y.) in 16^th (16:08.63, 16 points).
