Men’s Cross Country Bested by Maine at the Dual Meet

ORONO, Maine – The University of New Hampshire men's cross country team placed second in a dual meet at the University of Maine, Friday afternoon.
New Hampshire scored 47 points, as Maine compiled 16 for the victory in the 8K race.
Sophomore Neil Mistretta (Durham, N.H.) placed fifth overall with a time of 27:58. Dean Yost (Canton, Conn.) earned 10th place (28:31) followed by freshman Brett Hoerner (Manchester, N.H.) who finished in 28:40 for 11th overall. Sophomore Joseph Poggi (Derry, N.H.) broke the tape in 29:02 for 12th place, just before James Yost (Canton, Conn.) who recorded a 29:28 time for 13th overall.
New Hampshire competes next at the Boston Coast to Coast meet, hosted by Boston College, on Friday, Sept. 25.
