Men’s Cross Country Claims Fourth Place at Wolfie Invitational

STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Junior Mitchell Dutton (Salem, N.H.) finished 13th overall as the University of New Hampshire men's cross country team placed fourth at the Wolfie Invitational at Stony Brook University, Saturday morning.
Binghamton University came out on top with 33 points as a team. Next up was Stony Brook, who finished with 43 points. The University of Maryland, Baltimore Country claimed third place with 49 points.
Dutton finished the 8K in 26 minutes, 57.58 seconds for 13 points. Senior Sam Gagnon (Hooksett, N.H.) took 16th overall (27:02.19) in his first race this season. Senior Brendan McCarthy (Mansfield, Mass.) broke the tape in 27:05.10 for 19th place overall, after his seventh place finish last weekend in the tri-meet.
Junior Ryan Chiesa (Stockholm, N.J.) placed 21st overall with a time of 27:11.75, followed by freshman Matthew Geraci (Honeoye-Falls, N.Y.) who took 24th (27:26.48).
The final two Wildcat scorers were freshman Cody Symonds (Alton, N.H.) and sophomore Timothy Kenefick (Guilford, Conn.) who placed 27th (27:39.84) and 28th (27:41.62), respectively.
New Hampshire continues its season at the University of Maine on Friday, Sept 18 (3 p.m.).
