Daniel Johnson of Men's T&F Kicks Off New Englands

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior Daniel Johnson (Lancaster, N.H.) of the University of New Hampshire men's track and field team competes in five events for the Decathlon on day one of the New England Outdoor Championships on Thursday (May 7) at the campus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Johnson, who set personal bests in the 100-meter dash, shot put and the 400-meter race today, stands third with 3,272 points.
For throwing, Johnson tossed the shotput a distance of 12.45-meters for his only first place finish on the day. In the high jump, the granite state native finished sixth with a height of 1.69-meters. To wrap up the opening day, and first half of the decathlon, he finished fourth in the 400-meter race breaking the tape in 52.05 in the first heat.
The second half of the decathlon, as well as the other events, start tomorrow morning at 10:00 AM.
