Wildcats Takes Fourth at Holy Cross Men's Meet

WORCESTER, Mass. - The University of New Hampshire men's track and field team scored 116 total team points and placed fourth at the Holy Cross Men's Meet on Tuesday afternoon.
The University of Rhode Island took first place, notching 173 points, while the College of the Holy Cross snagged second place with 165 points. Worcester State University picked up third place with 142 points.
Junior Isaiah Penn (Boston, Mass.) led the way for the Wildcats with a victory in the 400-meter dash. The sprinter logged a time of 48.56 seconds to take first place. Freshman Ross Hardy (North Andover, Mass.) also placed in the event, grabbing sixth place in 50.06 seconds.
Freshman Mitchell Dutton (Salem, N.H.) and junior Jeremy Wildgoose (Woodstock, Conn.) swept the top two spots in the 5,000-meter race. Dutton took the top spot with a mark of 15 minutes and 28.97 seconds, while Wildgoose placed second with a time of 15:29.18.
Sophomore D'mahl McFadden (Penacook, N.H.) followed with a victory in the 110-meter hurdles. McFadden took the victory with a time of 14.88 seconds, while freshman Ryan Maney (Reading, Mass.) claimed eighth in 16.11 seconds.
McFadden also placed in the 400-meter hurdles event. The sprinter finished fifth place with a time of 56.90 seconds. Sophomore Tyler Mulcahy (Weymouth, Mass.) earned the victory in the event with a time of 54.62 seconds.
The Wildcats also got solid performances from Jacob Kittredge (Amherst, N.H.) and Nathan Kittredge (Amherst, N.H.). The UNH duo placed fourth (1:58.22) and eighth (1:59.26), respectively.
Senior George Jumpp (Manchester, N.H.) paced the way for UNH in field events with two top-six finishes. The senior opened the meet with a second place performance in the hammer throw with a mark of 182 feet and 7 inches. Junior Mark Hamilton (Milford, N.H.) took fourth in the hammer throw with a mark of 143-10.
Jumpp followed his performance in the hammer throw with a fifth-place finish in the discus throw. The Manchester, N.H. native pitched a measurement of 126-05, while junior Wyatt Berrier (North Conway, N.H.) placed sixth (125-11).
