Senior forward Jackson Pierson (Zionsville, Ind.) of the UNH men's hockey team was named to the All-Tournament Team of the 32nd Annual Ledyard Classic that was held Dec. 30-31 at Dartmouth College's Thompson Arena.
Jackson recorded two goals and an assist for a total of three points in the two tourney games. In the third-place game, his first-period goal tied the score at 1-1 and sparked the Wildcats to a 7-1 victory against Mercyhurst College. Jackson also tallied an assist on the opening goal of the third period (at 3:48) that extended UNH's advantage to 5-1. His other stats in that win included three shots, a +1 plus/minus rating and a game-high 10 wins in the faceoff circle.
Jackson scored a goal In the tourney opener vs. Dartmouth; that tally leveled the score, 1-1, at 4:24 of the second stanza. His other stats included four shots, an even plus/minus rating and a game-high 13 wins in the faceoff circle.
In 19 games, Jackson has eight goals and four assists to lead the Wildcats in both goals and points (12). He also leads the team in shots (58), power-play goals (two), game-winning goals (four), faceoff wins (232) and faceoff win percentage (59.5%).
Jackson and his teammates return to action Jan. 7 (7 p.m.) at home vs. St. Lawrence. UNH then plays host to Clarkson on Jan. 8 (7:30 p.m.).
