Junior forward Shea Verrier (Reading, Mass) of the University of New Hampshire women’s ice hockey team the Service Credit Union Student-Athlete of the Week on Jan. 29.
Shea Verrier tallied a total of two goals and four assists in UNH’s 4-2 wins over Maine on Jan. 26-27.
During the Friday night game, Shea had a part in all four goals for the Wildcats. She recorded two assists and two goals. This four-point game was a career high for Shea. She also won eight out of 10 faceoffs she participated in and had two blocked shots.
In Saturday’s game, Shea contributed another two assists and went 12-for-18 in faceoffs. This game was Shea’s fourth multipoint game of the season, sixth in her career. She was named Hockey East Player of the Week on Monday.
The Wildcats will host 13th-ranked Northeastern University on Thursday, Feb. 1 at 6 p.m. for Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day. Then, on Saturday, Feb. 3 at 4:30 p.m. the ‘Cats will be at Northeastern’s home rink. This game will be airing on NESN, and both games will be on ESPN+.
