Harvey Takes First on Beam, Wildcats Place Third at EAGL Championship

Sophomore is UNH's first outright beam champion since 2013
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – Sophomore Mady Harvey (Freeland, Mich.) won the EAGL balance beam championship with a 9.875, and freshman Abby Scherban (Wallingford, Conn.) was brilliant in her college debut with a 9.875 on uneven bars to help the UNH gymnastics team finish third with a 194.775 in Saturday's 2026 EAGL Championship, hosted by LIU at the Pratt Recreation Center.
Towson won the conference championship with a 196.375, followed by the host Sharks (195.075). The Wildcats (20-8, 4-0 EAGL) defeated Temple (194.350) and George Washington (193.150).
Harvey, EAGL's regular-season beam champion, became the first Wildcat to top the beam podium at the EAGL Championship since Robyn Kelley (Wakefield, Mass.) shared the title in 2023. It was UNH's first outright beam champion since Kayla Gray (Buffalo, N.Y.) in 2013.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Bars – (Team Score – 48.725)
•In the opening rotation, Scherban anchored the bar lineup with her dazzling performance to lead the 'Cats and place third overall for EAGL All-Tournament First Team recognition.
•In her final collegiate bar routine, senior captain Leah Moreno (Cary, N.C.) delivered with a 9.825 for a share of sixth and All-Tournament First Team.
•Senior Serena Mullin (Hamden, Conn.) tacked on a 9.800 for a tie for 10th and All-Tournament Second Team.
Beam – (Team Score – 48.125)
•Harvey's excellence was supported by junior Gwen Ockerbloom (Granby, Conn.), who tallied a 9.750 for a share of ninth and All-Tournament Second Team honors.
•Senior Riley Himes (Orlando, Fla.) capped her Wildcat career with a 9.725 to secure All-Tournament Second Team (T-12th).
Floor – (Team Score – 49.000)
•Junior captain McCall McMullen (Athens, Ga.) headlined the floor lineup by scoring a 9.850 to tie for fifth place and All-Tournament First Team.
•Junior Poulina Minaev (Smithtown, N.Y.) registered a 9.825 to share ninth and All-Tournament Second Team.
•Ockerbloom notched a 9.800 to tie for 13th place and All-Tournament Second Team.
•Sophomore Peyton Novinger (Hershey, Pa.) posted a 9.775 for a share of 16th and All-Tournament Second Team.
Vault – (Team Score –48.850)
•In the final rotation, sophomore Stacy Boss (Richboro, Pa.) tied her personal best with a 9.800 on vault to match Ockerbloom for team-high honors and a share of third place (All-Tournament First Team).
•Freshman Amelia Lannon (Sutton, Mass.), Mullin and McMullen all scored a 9.750 for 13th place and All-Tournament Second Team.
All-Around
•Mullin took home All-Tournament First Team in all-around by finishing sixth (38.475).

•The 2026 NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championship selection show will air on Monday, March 23, 2026, at noon on ESPNU. The show reveals the 36-team field, top 16 seeds, and regional placements for the competition, which culminates at the finals in Fort Worth, Texas. The Wildcats are expected to have a few event specialists selected for NCAA Regionals, which take place April 1–5, with finals from April 16–18, 2026.
