Grad student and captain Ava Boutilier (Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island) stopped 58 of 61 shots for a 1.97 GAA and .951 save percentage in last week’s games at 11th-ranked Vermont and at Merrimack.
She made 42 saves to backbone UNH to a 3-3 tie and subsequent shootout win at Vermont. Ava made 17 first-period saves and seven in overtime. She went on to stop three shots in the shootout to help the Wildcats earn the extra point in the standings.
In the 3-3 tie at Merrimack, Ava entered the game with the score tied 3-3 with 1:36 remaining in the second period and stopped all 16 shots the rest of the way to help UNH earn a point. She made 13 saves in the third period and two more in OT.
New Hampshire concludes the regular season Feb. 17-18 with a two-game home series against 11th-ranked Vermont. Start time both days is 2 p.m. and Saturday is Senior Day.
