Spencer Emerson is in his first year on New Hampshire Wildcats football head coach Sean Goldrich’s staff in 2026 as the program’s General Manager and Director of Football Operations.

Prior to arriving at UNH, Emerson spent two seasons as Head Football Coach at Falmouth High School in Maine. He compiled a 17–4 record, earning Maine Coach of the Year honors after leading the program to its first undefeated season and first state championship with a Class B title in 2024.

From 2022–23, Emerson served as Offensive Coordinator and Associate Head Coach at the University of Chicago. The 2022 Maroon offense averaged 37.3 points per game, highlighted by standout running back Nicholas D’Ambrose, who produced one of the top rushing seasons in program history. D’Ambrose totaled 1,095 rushing yards, seventh most in school history, while ranking among the national leaders in scoring, rushing production, touchdowns, and all-purpose yards.

Before Chicago, Emerson spent two seasons at Georgetown University coaching running backs and serving as video coordinator. He also held multiple roles at Bates College, including Cornerbacks Coach, Wide Receivers Coach, and Director of Football Operations.

Between his two stints at Bates, Emerson was Head Coach at Poland Regional High School, where he became the youngest head football coach in Maine at age 24. His offenses set multiple school records in passing, scoring, and total yardage during the 2018 season, including the Class D state passing record.

As a student-athlete, Emerson played quarterback at Becker College before transferring to University of Maine. While at Maine, he joined the coaching staff as an undergraduate assistant and contributed in film, operations, and recruiting.

Emerson earned his bachelor’s degree from Maine in 2016 and a master’s in Sport Management from Southern New Hampshire University in 2023. He and his wife, Phoebe, have one child.
