Reilly Garrity set a career-high with 13 assists in the loss.

STORRS, Conn. — The University of New Hampshire women's volleyball team fell to the Yale University (5-0, 0-0 Ivy) on Saturday afternoon (Sept. 12) at the UConn Volleyball Center, losing 3-0 in straight sets. The set scores were 16-25, 21-25, and 14-25.

HOW IT HAPPENED

SET 1
-Yale opened the match outpacing the Wildcat offense, outscoring New Hampshire 15-8.

-The Wildcats pulled it back within three, going on a 4-0 run to make it 15-12, powered by two service aces from Hady Pickard (Roswell, Ga.) alongside kills from Caitlin Leddy (Hinsdale, Ill.) and Rachel Grier (Dublin, Calif.).

-Yale regained momentum late in the set, going on a 10-4 run to take the first set, 25-16.

SET 2
-New Hampshire started the second set with an 8-6 edge over the Bulldogs, fueled by a pair of kills from Emma Converse (San Antonio, Texas) and a service ace from Reilly Garrity (Chicago, Ill.).

-Yale responded with a six-point run, making it 12-8.

-UNH kept the pressure up, trading kills with the Bulldogs, leading to a late 22-18 lead for Yale. Converse put down a pair of service aces while Grier added three kills.

-The Bulldogs closed out late, taking the second set 25-21.

SET 3
-Yale opened the third set on an 8-3 scoring run, leading to an early timeout for the Wildcats.

-The Bulldogs extended their edge on the 'Cats, outscoring UNH 11-5 to make it a 19-8 contest.

-New Hampshire looked to get momentum back, scoring four of the next five points off blocks from Grier and Evelyn Brenton (Glastonbury, Conn.) and kills from Leddy and Converse, but the Bulldogs closed out to win the set 25-14 and take the match.

-Eight different players earned a kill in the loss, paced by eight-kill outings for Emma Converse and Rachel Grier.

-Reilly Garrity finished with a team-high 13 assists, most in her collegiate career.

-Hady Pickard matched her career-high in service aces, logging a team-high three in the loss, while also pacing the team with nine digs.

-Rachel Grier matched her career-high in solo blocks, denying three while also providing a pair of block assists.
