DURHAM, N.H. – Freshman Laura Rose Donegan (Melbourne, Australia) placed second overall as the University of New Hampshire women's cross country team finished third at the America East Pre-Conference meet Friday afternoon at the College Woods course.
The Wildcats finished with 75 points to finish behind Vermont (39) and Albany (60) but ahead of Boston University (80) and Maine (98). The meet served as a prelude to next month's conference championships, which will also be held at the College Woods course.
Donegan was impressive in the first collegiate race of her career as she completed the 6-kilometer course in a time of 17:05.95.
Senior Darcy James (Exeter, Mass.) finished 14th in a time of 18:12.27, while junior Elise Beattie (Woodstock, Ill.) took 18th at 18:25.47.
