Casey Carroll, a 1994 graduate of UNH, returns for his17th season guiding the UNH Women’s Track andField Program. The last several years of the program have proven tobe tremendously successful. The 2011 outdoor season was historicwith the Lady Wildcats winning the New England Outdoor CollegiateTrack and Field Championship.
In the last seven years of that championship, the program alsoachieved four second place finishes. Carroll was named New EnglandOutdoor Track and Field Coach of the Year in 2008. Also inthe last seven years, the Lady Wildcats have finished in the topthree of the America East Championship five times with three secondand two third place showings.
UNH has also had a presence on the NCAA regional and nationalscene. Over the last seven years, the team has sent numeroustrack and field athletes to compete at the NCAA NationalChampionships and the USATF Junior National Championships in thedistance, hurdles, jumps and throws events. In the last 15 years ofthe men’s and women’s track and field and cross countryseasons, he has been on the America East Coaching Staff of the Year13 times. Since his arrival, the team has set new school records in35 different indoor and outdoor events. Carroll is a USATF Level IIcertified coach in all track and field disciplines.
While a student at UNH, Carroll spent four years as a member ofthe track & field and cross country programs. A distancerunner, Carroll was team captain for two years. His senioryear, Carroll was a top-10 finisher at the North AtlanticConference Cross Country Championship and All-Conference in the5000 meters at the outdoor Track and Field Championship. In 1998,Carroll received his Master’s of Science degree in Psychologyof Sport and Exercise Science from the University of Oregon.Carroll still is a competitive runner on the roads and was thewinner of the Maine Marathon in 2003, the Hampton Rockfest Marathonin 2010 and two back-to-back New Hampshire Marathons in 2013 and2014.
