Katie (Hitchcock) Sheehan is in herfourth season as assistant coach for the men's and women's alpineski teams in 2014-15.

Sheehan assists head coach BrianBlank in day-to-day operations of the alpine program, with anemphasis on training, recruiting and scheduling.

The Wildcats finished eighth at the2013 NCAA Skiing Championships, which matched their top resultsince 1994. Men’s alpine racers Sam Coffey (SL), TaylorVest-Burton (SL) and Coley Oliver (GS) earned All-America FirstTeam honors. Vest-Burton added a Second Team (GS) merit, and theWildcats placed runner-up in both men’s disciplines. On thewomen’s side, Catherine Blanchard competed at NCAAs for athird straight season; the senior was joined by Jenna Kantor, arepeat NCAA competitor, and Randa Teschner, the lone Wildcatfreshman to earn a trip to nationals.

The 2012 season, Sheehan's first onstaff, featured a third-place finish at the EISA Championships anda full allotment of six alpine racers competing at NCAAs: PaulAtkinson; Vest-Burton and Zach Clayton for the men's team; Lepine,Kantor and Laura Rozinowicz on the women's side. Four other skiersqualified for NCAAs but did not compete due to the three-skierlimit per discipline. Atkinson and Lepine were named to the EISAAll-East Team.

Sheehan, a native of Carmichael,Calif., was a member of the United States ski team from 2003-07.She also competed independently from 2008-11. She grew up skiing atSquaw Valley and moved to Sugar Bowl Academy in 1999.
